Did someone say bonfire?

It is amazing how time flies. The winter solstice is upon us here in the Southern Hemisphere and for me that usually signals two things … mulled wine and a raging bonfire. Bonfire night at the Collingwood Children’s Farm has become a bit of a tradition for dear husband and I for many years now and it is a perfect marker to let us know that winter is truly here. So with winter woollies firmly on to keep the cold at bay, we ventured to the farm for an evening of warm delights.

The farm hosts an array of child friendly lantern parades and activities, and for the adults, well there is always a firm supply of good food, good company and the all important mulled wine that becomes synonymous with the event. And this year is no different. It truly is a cup of happiness that in this winter chill warms the heart as well as the belly. And anything that warms the soul must be good for you, so with that thought in mind I’ll have another glass please. After all it is getting oh so cold outside.
